Let me help you!

It can be difficult to know what language to use with a voiceover artist, when describing what you are looking for. How do we know we have the same connotations associated with a specific word? Perhaps friendly means one thing to you and a slightly different thing to me. Don't worry, I am here to help! First, let me take the pressure off, it's my job to find out what you really mean, even if I have a different understanding of the words you use. Also I always offer a complimentary revision with every order, in case I have headed in the wrong direction the first time. Now that's clear, lets go over some things to help us get the recording right the first time. If you look at the descriptions of the voiceover samples above, you can start to see how I describe different types of voiceovers. In fact, if you find a voiceover above that is exactly what you are looking for, please let me know! References, my own or other peoples, are a great way to help communicate what you are looking for. Along with references, here is a list of adjectives that are great to use when describing the type of voiceover you are going for. I recommend using at least three different adjectives when explaining what you want, so that I can get a clearer picture of what you are looking for. This is important because you can say you are looking for an inspirational voiceover, but that can mean a lot of things. Inspirational voiceovers can be gentle, cinematic and intimate, slowly building and tugging at our heartstrings (check out my See You In the Moment campaign), but they can also be bold, authentic and powerful, motivating us to take action. Two very different vibes, both inspirational. Have fun with the list, see what feels right and what doesn't and share what you discover with me, so I can bring your project to life exactly the way you want it.
